When you think of word families what is the first thing that comes to mind?

What do you think is the best way to introduce, teach and review word families with children?

Reading Rockets shares an idea for creating a Word Family Chart starting with one key word.

After making the chart, students can interact with the chosen word family by playing a phonemic awareness game writing sentences illustrate the words, and/or even make a Word Family Flower!
